Silver futures slip 0.29% on weak overseas cues

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices fell by 0.29 per cent to Rs 39,529 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, tracking a weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July declined by Rs 113, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 39,529 per kg in business turnover of 687 lots.
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in September moved down by Rs 111, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 40,220 per kg in 315 lots.
Analysts said cutting down of positions by traders, driven by a weak trend in global markets, attributed to the fall in silver prices in futures trade.
Globally, silver fell 1.57 per cent to USD 16.01 an ounce in New York yesterday.
