Sonia condoles Maderna's death

Congress President Sonia Gandhi today condoled the death of senior party leader and former Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Parasram Maderna.

In a condolence message, Gandhi said that Maderna was a leader connected to the grassroots, and in his passing away the Congress Party, as well the state of Rajasthan, had "lost a veteran" whose career in public life spanned over 50 years.

Maderna died in a hospital in Jaipur this morning at the age of 88 following respiratory problem.
