Soybean futures decline further on weak global cues

Soybean prices declined 0.84 per cent to Rs 3,770 per quintal in futures trading today on narrowing of exposure by participants in tune with lower global cues.

Market players said cutting down of holdings by speculators amid a weak global trend affected soybean futures prices for the second straight day.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean delivery for March month contract slipped by Rs 32 or 0.84 per cent to Rs 3,770 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 77,180 lots.

Soybean delivery for the most traded second contract also dropped by the same margin and percentage to Rs 3,792 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 2,46,440 lots.
