Spotted deer injured while trying to escape stray dogs

A six-year-old spotted deer sustained serious injuries after it rushed through a barbed wire fence while trying to escape stray dogs near Bharathiar University on the outskirts, police said today.
Some Forest Department staff noticed the deer lying there few days back and took it to a Guard's quarters, where necessary treatment was given, police said.
The deer's neck was swollen and it has injuries on its body and the chest, caused while rushing through the fence to escape the dogs, they said.
