Squash player Sandhu reaches semifinals in Philippines

Fresh from his title winning run in Malaysia last week, Indian squash player Harinder Pal Sandhu marched into the semifinals at the Nissan Makati Open, a PSA world tour event, here today.
Sandhu defeated seventh seed Tsun Hei Yuen of Hong Kong 11-9, 11-4, 11-4.
Seeded two, Harinder had earlier begun in his characteristic fighting mood by downing compatriot and qualifier Vijaykumar 15-13, 11-9, 11-8 in the first round late yesterday.
For the two other first round winners, Abhay Singh and Akanksha Salunkhe, both qualifiers, it was curtains in the quarterfinals.
