Sri Lankan Badminton player taken ill, admitted to NEIGRIHMS

A member of the Sri Lankan national team today was taken ill and admitted at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, officials said.

A badminton player of the Sri Lankan national team was reported ill at the hotel they were putting up today and he was rushed to the hospital, SAG (Shillong) Joint CEO F R Kharkongor told PTI.

The player was reported to be suffering from cold and high fever, he said.

Doctors at the NEIGRIHMS said the sudden change in weather condition could be the reason behind the sickness. They said the condition of the player was stable.
 

A full contingent of 28 players from Sri Lanka has checked in at Hotel Centre Point here since yesterday.
