State Bank of Patiala adds 25 branches in its network

State Bank of Patiala, one of the five associates of SBI today opened 25 branches and plans to add another 70 across the country in the next two months.

With the addition of 25 branches, the bank's delivery network rose to 1,254.

"The bank has already opened 47 branches this financial year and plans to add another 60-70 branches by September," State Bank of Patiala (SBP) Managing Director S A Ramesh Rangam said here.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the bank has decided to spent additional fund for welfare of girl child and underprivileged sections of the society.
 

Elaborating on the initiative, he said, the bank will contribute Rs 50 for each current account opened, Rs 5 for each new savings account and 10 paise for each transaction and Rs 2 for every new user for Internet banking toward this CSR corpus.

This would be in addition to regular CSR fund, he said, adding, this would used to provide necessary assistance to the needy people.
