Steam coal seized

raids against illegal coal smuggling, the police have seized steam coal worth Rs five lakh and arrested one person in Hazaribagh district, the police said today.

Acting on a tip-off that 212 bags of steam coal were hidden at Ganjhu Tola of the district, a police team last night raided the place and seized the coal, Superintendent of Police Manoj Kaushik said here.

One Ashok Sao was arrested in this connection and he had named four other coal smugglers, he said.

Raids were on to trace them.
