Steps taken to contain encephalitis in Arunachal

The health department and the district administration in Changlang have taken all steps to contain Japanese Encephalitis (JE) which has so far claimed two lives in Arunachal Pradesh.

The victims were identified as a 17-year-old girl who died on July 30 and a 10-year-old girl who died on July 24, officials said.

The District Health Society (DHS) Changlang, under the supervision of its District Medical Officer (DMO), is carrying out awareness campaign on JE, its Information and Public Relation Officer said in a report.

DMO S Chai Pul said the DHS was conducting fogging in vulnerable areas of the district especially piggery farms.
