STF nabs criminal carrying sizable cash reward

A criminal, carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, was today arrested by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh police from Sikandarabad area, a police spokesman said here.

Jitendra alias Jeetu, an active member of Sunder Bhatti, was arrested after an encounter. Fire-arms were also recovered from his possession, he said.

Jeetu was a constable in UP police for seven years between 1990-97 and was terminated. Around 12 dozen cases were lodged against him, he added.
