Press Trust of India New Delhi
Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta today demanded that the AAP government strengthen public transport for both the common people and Parliamentarians alike, while alleging that public transporter DTC failed to cater to the MPs visiting the Parliament.

"DTC failed on the very first day of the current Parliament session as MPs were put to a lot of inconvenience due to faulty implementation of odd-even scheme," he said.

The three buses each from North and South Blocks to Parliament run by DTC were found to be inadequate in number and frequency, he alleged.

The BJP leader said that not only MPs but commoners were also "suffering" from lack of an efficient and effective transport system in Delhi.

Kejriwal government has not added even a single new bus to DTC fleet. It is essential that the transport system must be made effective and dependable for both MPs and common men alike in the wake of odd-even scheme being implemented by it, he added.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Vijay Goel also announced to conduct a survey on odd-even scheme involving his organisation Lok Abhiyan, tomorrow.

About 10,000 people will be surveyed across Delhi for which 13 teams have been formed. The surveyors will be stationed at busy roundabouts in the city and will seek the opinions of people on the scheme, he said.

Goel will himself seek opinion of people at Rajiv Chowk Metro station.
