Sugar declines on lower demand, good supply

Both the variety of sugar prices declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to sustained selling by stockist amidst lower demand following adequate supply positions.

Small sugar (S-30) dropped by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,630/2,750 from monday's closing level of Rs 2,640/2,750.

Medium sugar (M-30) also eased by Rs 4 per quintal to Rs 2,722/2,935 as against Rs 2,726/2,935 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,630/2,750 (Rs 2,640/2,750).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,722/2,935 (Rs 2,726/2,935).
