Sugar maintains weak trend on sluggish demand

Prices of both varieties of sugar maintained a weak trend at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to sluggish demand from stockists and retailers amid selling from millers.

Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 7 per quintal to Rs 2,352/2,525 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,352/ 2,532.

Medium sugar (M-30) was also fell by Rs 10 to 2,470/2,682 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,480/2,682 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,352/2,525 (Rs 2,352/2,532).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,470/2,682 (Rs 2,480/2,682).
