Sugar mills buy cane worth Rs 266 cr from farmers

Sugar mills in the district have purchased cane worth Rs 265.87 crore from farmers during the current season.

District cane officer OP Yadav told reporters here today that five sugar mills in the district -- Tikola, Khatoli, Morna, Mansurpurand Khaikheri-- have already releasedRs 69.35 crore to the farmers.

Yadav added that Rohana, Bhesani and Titawi mills have not yet cleared farmers' dues in the current season despite efforts from the district authorities.
