YSR Congress MLA from Nandyal constituency in Kurnool district, Bhuma Nagireddy was today arrested in connection with the "attack" on some TDP councillors after he surrendered before police, a senior official said.
Nagireddy, along with his party workers, was booked on charges of attempt to murder and for instigating his followers to attack in connection with a scuffle that broke out between some councillors of TDP and YSRCP at Nandyal Municipal council hall yesterday, they said.
"The MLA has been arrested after he surrendered before Nandyal Assistant SP. He has been now remanded in custody," Kurnool district SP A K E Ravikrishna told PTI over phone.

Some councillors sustained injuries in the incident while furniture, window panes and doors got damaged, the ASP said, adding police are ascertaining the role of other YSRCP activists.
Meanwhile, the bandh observed by TDP in Nandyal town condemning the "attack" passed off peacefully, police said.
