Teenage girl raped by uncle in Punjab

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle at Mulowali village in Dera Baba Nanak police station area here, police said today.

The accused, identified as Satnam Singh, was going to drop the girl to her parents house from her aunt's house in Dera Pathana village, they said.

On the way, the accused allegedly took her to a secluded spot and raped her, police said.

He later threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone, they said/

But she brought the incident to her mother's notice, police said.

An FIR has been registered against Satnam for rape, police added.
