Teenager's presence of mind foils robbery bid

Presence of mind of a teenaged boy today thwarted a robbery bid at his father's shop at Pahari Katra here and also helped in nabbing the robbers, police said.

At around 9:00 AM, two armed robbers barged into the shop of Davinder Pal Sood, who was alone at that time, and asked him to handover the cash, SSP Sukhchain Singh Gill said.

Meanwhile, Sood's son Aneep came to know about the presence of armed robbers and locked the shop from outside and raised an alarm, following which neighbours rushed to the spot and overpowered the robbers and handed them over to police, he said.
 

A country made revolver along with five live cartridges and one pistol were recovered from the robbers, identified as Jagjit Singh and Gurpreet Singh, police said.
