Teenagers commit suicide

Two Class 12 students of a local school here, suspected to be lovers, committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train at Karyara near Pathanapuram here this morning.

The deceased were identified as Joyal Joseph (16) and P K Shiji (16), hailing from Ezhukone and Perumbuzha near here respectively, police said.

Both students, suspected to be lovers, came to a deserted area far their homes and jumped on to the tracks on seeing a speeding train approaching at 7.30 AM, police said.

No other details were available and the reason for their extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
 

The higher secondary examinations are going on in Kerala at present.
