The Telangana government is planning to set up a special body which will work for the welfare of Brahmins in the state.
The proposed body would be set up on the lines of Brahmin Welfare Corporation in (new) Andhra Pradesh, official sources said here today.
The decision on setting up the corporation is likely to be made after the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, scheduled to be held on February 2, are over, the sources said.
The move to set up the corporation came in the wake of representations received by the government and to work for the welfare of the community, they added.
