Telengana, Ker girls make it to finals; U'khand& TN men win

: Telengana women overcame defending champion Indian Railways and will fight it out with Kerala in the finals, while Uttarakhand men will face Tamil Nadu in the title clash in the ongoing 67th senior national basketball championship here.

In the semifinals here today, Telengana women had a relatively easy 74-56 win over Railways while Kerala overcome a spirited Chattisgarh 72-70 to make the grade.

For Telengana, Gayathri did the star turn with 24 points, while Suganya and R Ramya chipped in with 17 points each.

Only Sruthi Menon shone for the losers Chattisgarh, basketting 14 points.

The Kerala-Chattisgarh match was an edge of the seat thriller, with fortunes swinging back and forth.
 

P G Anjama and P S Jeena each sank in 20 points while S Poojamol scored 17 points

Poonam Chaturvedi led for the losers, scoring more than half the team's points with 36. Aakansha Singh netted 15.

In the men's section Uttarakhand overcame Punjab 78-53.

Vishesh Bhriguvanshi with 20 points, Trideep Kai with 15, and Amritpal Singh with 12 contributed to the team's win.

Talwinder Jit Singh was the top scorer for the losers with 14 points

In another match, Tamil Nadu walloped Rajasthan 108-77. Jeevanantham netted 24 points, while Rikin Pethani sank in 20.

For Rajasthan, Shared Dadhich top scored with 21 points, while Bharatdeep Singhnetted 17 and Vinod Kumar 15.
