The maximum temperatures today dropped by a few notches across Punjab and Haryana with the region receiving scattered rains.
Chandigarh, which was lashed by rains this morning causing traffic jams at many points, recorded a high of 30 deg C, down three notches, the MeT Department said here.
Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 30.1 deg C, also three below normal while Hisar's maximum settled at 33 deg C, down three notches.

Bhiwani and Narnaul recorded below normal maximums of 32.6 deg C and 32.2 deg C, respectively.
Patiala and Ludhiana in Punjab, which received rains, registered respective highs of 31 deg C and 30 deg C, both down three notches below normal.
Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 34.8 deg C.
The MeT has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers may occur at a few places in Haryana and at isolated places in Punjab tomorrow.
