Temperatures rise across Punjab and Haryana

After few days of respite, maximum temperatures today rose across Punjab and Haryana and hovered above the 40 degrees Celsius mark.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, experienced a hot day at 41.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal limits.

In Haryana, Hisar was the hottest place with 42.5 degrees Celsius, up two notches, a MeT Department official said here.

Karnal recorded 41 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while Ambala's maximum settled at 41.6 degrees Celsius, three notches more than normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar sizzled at 41.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.

Ludhiana braved a hot day at 41.7 degrees Celsius while Patiala's maximum settled at 41.2 degrees Celsius.
