Priest of a local temple was today shot dead allegedly by three persons over some property dispute in Kotwali area here, police said.
Subhash Chandra Chauhan alias Shivanand Baba (52) was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne miscreants while he was returning after performing puja at Kalwari temple this morning, they said.
Police said that Shivanand had 52 bigha land in his name which prima facie seemed to be the reason behind the murder.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, they said.
