Ghaziabad will soon have a 10.3 km six-lane elevated highway connecting UP Gate to Raj Nagar extension, easing the travel of commuters.
A tender for the Rs 916.3 cr elevated highway was today awarded to Hyderabad-based Navyug Engineering Company by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).
By September 20, all legal formalities with the company will be completed and the work will be started and is scheduled to be completed by March 2017, vice chairman of GDA, Santosh Kumar Yadav said.

The highway will pass over Hindan River Canal and reach Hindan Railway Bridge Barrage. It will reach Raj Nagar Extension touching Arthala Lake, Haz House, Karhere Bridge.
This will ease the movement of traffic of daily commuters and reduce the fuel consumption and pollution level in the city, Yadav said.
He further said that in second phase, the elevated road will be connected to Northern Peripheral Expressway at Dasna.
