Thakur accuses Virbhadra of 'callous attitude' in minor girl's

Press Trust of India  |  Dharamsala

leader Anurag Thakur today accused Chief minister of "callous attitude" towards the rape and case of a minor girl in Kotkhai.

"The Chief Minister has all the time to visit over and again for his different cases but has no time to visit the victim's family at a time when the the entire state is concerned due to this heinous incident," he said in a statement issued here.

Thakur said there was anger among the people regarding the statement issued by the Chief Minister after the incident.

"The Chief Minister came out with a statement that the people of Kotkhai area are extra smart, which was an insult to the residents of the area and it was their right to protest against the failure of the in maintaining and order," he said.

Thakur said, "This is not the first occasion when the Chief Minister has shown insensitivity towards a serious matter. In the past as well when there was Jaundice outbreak in Shimla, he took up the position that such instances occur and termed this as a minor instance. Similarly in the major bus accident cases, he has never tried to visit the families of the deceased, rather he has been selective."

He said such a has "no right" to remain in office for a single day and needs to be dismissed by the Governor as it has "failed on all fronts".
