An ATM of a private company
containing around Rs 19,000 was allegedly stolen in Rura village of Maharajpur area in the district, police said today.
The thieves took away the ATM yesterday and the company has told us that there was Rs 18,800 in it, SP (Rural) A K Mishra said.
There was no guard for the machine, he said, adding that villagers informed the police about the theft.
Police team along with forensic experts and dog squads inspected the spot, he said.
After preliminary investigation, it appears that more than three persons were involved in the crime and they took away the ATM in a vehicle, he said.
According to the SP, a case has been lodged and efforts are on to nab the accused.
