Three boys escape from juvenile home in C'garh

Three boys escaped from a government-run juvenile home in Korba district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday, police said.

The three inmates, aged between 16-17 years, escaped in the wee hours from the correctional home located in Risdi area under Balco police station limits, said station house officer (SHO) Lakhan Lal Patel.

"One of the three minors is accused in a theft case, while two others in some other cases," he said.

"As per the preliminary information, home guard Suryakant Rathore, who was on security duty at the correctional home, was sleeping and the three accused managed to take out the keys of the main door from him and snaked out," the SHO said.

 

Soon after being alerted, police personnel reached the spot and launched an investigation, he said adding that efforts are on to trace the trio.
