At least 12 people who attempted to commit suicide today by jumping together from the top of a high-rise Chinese government building after being cheated by a venture capital firm were stopped from the act by the police, who later arrested three of the alleged cheaters.
The trio from venture capital firm - Shanxi Heli - were arrested for alleged illegal fund-raising.
Earlier in the day, twelve of the cheated investors climbed onto the top of a six-story office building of the Development and Reform Commission of Shuozhou city in Shanxi province, threatening to jump off to their deaths to highlight the financial losses suffered by them.
