Three more persons were arrested today in connection with the alleged honour killing committed on March 31 in Bodhi Nageswar village under Patan police station of Palamau district, a senior police officer said.

Four persons including the victim Sonakshi Kumari's father Vinay Vishwakarma and paternal uncle Gyaneshwar Viswakarma had already been arrested in connection with the killing of three members of the family including the newly married Sonakshi and her husband Chunmun Mochi.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Hiralal Ravi told reporters that Santosh Bhuiyan and Suresh Bhuiyan, who were paid Rs 35,000 allegedly by Vinay and Gyaneshwar to eliminate the entire family of Sonakshi, were arrested along with an accomplice Surjit Prajapati in connection with the killings.

Sonakshi's father and uncle had paid the amount to Bhuiyan to eliminate the entire family of Chunmun.

Describing the incident as honour killing, Ravi said a search was on for four others in connection with the murder.

Referring the incident, the DSP said Chunmun fell in love with Sonakshi while teaching her and later eloped and got married in a court in Jammu.

No sooner they returned home, Chunmun, his wife and 42-year-old Phool Devi were dragged out of their house by the accused and were taken to a nearby river, where they hacked to death.

The Police has recovered the blood-stained clothes of the victim, he added.
