Karimnagar District Superintendent of Police V Shiva Kumar suspended three policemen on Thursday for allegedly fighting inside the police station in an inebriated state, official sources said.
Head constable Kistaiah, as well as two constables Sabir and Bhoomiah of Choppadandi police station attended a private function in Choppadandi village, a week ago.
They reached the police station late at night in a drunken condition after which they began fighting with each other inside the police station, sources said.
After learning about the incident, the Karimnagar Supeintendent of Police ordered an enquiry and based on a preliminary report, the three cops were suspended.
Assistant police sub-inspector Veeraiah of Choppadandi police station was also suspended for deriliction of duties, sources said.
