A local court has awarded life sentence to three persons for killing a 13-year-old student in 2011.
Pronouncing the judgement yesterday, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Hisar, Sudesh Kumar Sharma, held Amit, Mahipal and Praveen guilty of murdering the minor.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on Amit and Mahipal and Rs 10000 on Praveen.
Ankit, a student of Class IX was kidnapped on January 22, 2011 by Amit and Mahipal when he was on his way to school, prosecution said.
Later, the accused demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from victim's father on phone.
Anandpal, father of the victim, reported the matter to the police. After registering a case, the police arrested Amit and Mahipal, the prosecution said.
During interrogation, it was found that another accused Praveen was also involved in the crime.
The accused took Ankit to a deserted place near village Kaluwas on the same day and strangulated him to death and buried his body.
