Tin recovered smartly after a brief fall at the non-ferrous metal market here today on the back of renewed demand from stockists as well as alloy manufacturers.
Elsewhere, copper and brass untensils scrap firmed up further due to sustained offtake by consuming industries.
Meanwhile, nickel and brass sheets cutting declined owing to lack of industrial support.
On global front, most base metals maintained their firming trend on short-covering after falling to multi-year lows spooked by China's devaluation of the yuan.
Tin spurted by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,160 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,150.
Copper sheet cutting rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 390 as compared to Rs 385 and copper armiture climbed by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 393 from Rs 389.
Copper scrap heavy and brass utensils scrap both moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 393 and Rs 300, respectively.
Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar also inched up by a rupee per kg to Rs 405 and Rs 433.
However, nickel dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 850 as against Rs 855 and brass sheets cutting fell by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 303 from Rs 305 previously.
