Tamil Manila Congress today welcomed the Supreme Court verdict striking down the cyber law provision that would provide for arrest for posting offensive content on internet.
Talking to reporters here, party founder-leader G.K.Vasan said the provision affected the freedom of expression.
He also said that the TMC would participate in the March 28 bandh called by farmers to protest against the construction of dam across the Cauvery by the Karnataka Government
The former union minister urged the state government to take steps to protect the interest of Handloom sector and cooperative sector workers who were undergoing serious problem due to financial crunch.
He said the power supply for the farmers had been reduced from 12 hours to seven hours and it should be restored.
