Six year-old J Divyaprabha, hailing from this city, did the country proud by competing as the youngest athlete in the recent World Biathle and Triathle Championships held in Cyprus.
Divyaprabha, a first standard student of a matriculation school here, finished 13th in a field of 16 contestants in the final of the Youth E category (under-10) of Biathle held on October 5 at Limassol.
The event involved 500 metre running, 50 metre swimming in sea and then 500 metre running.

Divyaprabha, daughter of local businessman M Jegan Selvakumar and Srirenga, was today felicitated by the management of her school.
Administrator of the school, Jeyandran V Mani said Prabha was among 25 participants from India selected through an event held in Pune.
The event, held in 26 different age categories, had attracted participants from the age of six to 75.
