Toddler dies after falling into tank

: An 18 month old baby boy died at Kondalmapatty after slipping into a tank from which water was being used for constructing houses nearby.

Police said the the mother was washing clothes and the child was playing in the house. She suddenly noticed the toddler missing, launched a frantic search and found its body.

The baby's father was away at work.

A case has been registered against the building contractor under Section 304 IPC (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder), police said.
