Torrent Pharma gains 4.5% on establishment nod from USFDA

Shares of Torrent Pharma today rose by 4.5 per cent as the company's manufacturing plant in Gujarat has obtained the establishment inspection report (EIR) from the US health regulator USFDA.

The stock ended the day with a gain of 4.48 per cent at Rs 1,312.75 on BSE. During the day, it surged 4.97 per cent to Rs 1,319.

On NSE, shares of the company jumped 4.5 per cent to close at Rs 1,312.75.

"Torrent Pharma has successfully obtained the Establishment Inspection Report from the USFDA for its plant located at Dahej SEZ, in Gujarat... The plant has also received approval from EU Germany," the company said in a BSE filing.
 

It further said: "It was set up to cater mainly to the regulated international markets such as the US, Brazil, Germany etc."

With the approval, this plant is now the third plant of Torrent Pharma to receive USFDA approval, out of its 5 manufacturing plants.
