Two college students drown in Kolkata

Two engineering students today drowned in a pond inside their college premises here, police said.

The victims, Angshu Shribastav and Animesh Roy, are second year students of Taratala Marine Engineering college. They drowned at around 4.45 PM this afternoon in a pond located inside the compound of the institution, a senior officer of Kolkata police said.

"Both of them were rushed to the hospital where they were declared brought dead," the officer said, adding that a probe has been initiated.
