A two-day orientation programme would be conducted for legislators in Andhra Pradesh Assembly starting July 18, Speaker K Sivaprasad said here today.
Observing that around 90 of the total 175 MLAs are new, he told reporters that the orientation programme would help them and senior legislators understand legislative practices better.
The orientation programme, which is likely to be attended by senior parliamentarians, is aimed at improving the legislators' performance, he said.
A senior TDP legislator and former minister Sivaprasad was elected speaker of the Legislative Assembly in the first session last month.
