Two killed in fire in cracker unit

Two persons were killed in a fire at a cracker unit in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal today.

Police said the fire at the cracker unit Maheshtala Daulatpur village had been caused by a short circuit and the dead included its 42-year-old owner and a 19-year-old worker, who were inside it.

One fire engine was rushed to the spot but locals put out the blaze before it arrived, police added.
