Two persons were killed and six others injured when a minibus overturned while trying to avert a collision with a motorbike in Begusarai district today, the police said.
The accident took place near Zero Mile under Barauni police station when the driver of the minibus applied brakes to stop the vehicle in order to avert colliding with a bike coming from opposite side.
Arun Tanti (35) and Jamuna Devi (45), travelling in the bus, died on the spot, while six others sustained injuries.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured persons admitted to Sadar hospital where the condition of two of them was stated to be serious, the police said.
