Two minor sisters feared drowned in Ganga

Two sisters are feared to have been drowned in river Ganga today while crossing it in Bijnore district, police said here.

The incident took place when three persons, including the sisters, were crossing river Ganga and slipped into the deeper end in Mandwar area of Bijnor, they said.

The sisters have been identified as Sangita (13) and Shivani (12), while the third person is Lokesh Devi (25), police said.

Devi was saved by the locals, they said, while police are still trying to search the two minors.
