Two monks arrested, over Rs 9 lakh seized

Police seized over Rs nine lakh hidden in a vehicle and arrested three persons, two of them monks, in this connection near here today.

Acting on a tip-off, a police party intercepted an SUV near the Transport Nagar, thoroughly searched the vehicle and found unaccounted money amounting to Rs 9.76 lakh.

Three persons, two of them monks, all travelling in the vehicle, were arrested in this connection, police said adding they were being interrogated.
