The Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau Wednesday arrested a deputy commissioner and an assistant accountant of the state housing board on graft charges, an official said.
They were arrested from Bikaner for allegedly taking bribes from a contractor to clear his bills, ASP at the anti-corruption bureau, Rajnish Punia, said.
Deputy Commissioner Raj Singh and Assistant Accountant Neelkanth Purohit of the Rajasthan Housing Board took bribes of Rs 50,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively on Wednesday, the officer said.
Earlier, the contractor had paid Rs 50,000 to Singh and the amount has been recovered from his residence, he said.
Punia said an unaccounted amount of Rs 1.99 lakh was recovered from Singh's wife and it is being probed.
