Udhampur admin starts fitting tracking system in govt vehicles

To track the official vehicles of government employees and to generate a digital tour diary, Udhampur district administration has initiated installation of Vehicle Tracking System in them.

"The district administration has initiated installation of VTS in all government vehicles including official cars, load carriers, ambulances heavy vehicles and other machinery including earth excavators for better surveillance and monitoring," an official spokesperson said.

"The Vehicle Tracking System has been launched under District Innovation Fund as a part of Digital India Programme," he said.

In the first phase, 16 vehicles have been fitted with VTS, the spokesperson said.

In the second phase all ambulances, trucks and other load carriers will be fitted with VTS followed by other government and hired vehicles, the spokesperson said.
