Undertrial flees after knocking down policeman

An undertrial knocked down a police constable and fled while being taken from the court lock up to the court room here today.

Hoogly additional superintendent of police Tathagata Basu said Surojit Das alias Pintu was a history sheeter and was arrrested with 16 kg of ganja in December.

He was lodged in Chisurah jail and was to be produced at the court today.

A search has been launched to net him, the ASP said.
