Drug firm Unichem Laboratories today reported a 67.78 per cent decline in standalone net profit at Rs 9.82 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015, due to increase in expenses.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 30.48 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal (2013-14), Unichem Laboratories said in a filing to the BSE.
Standalone total income from operations of the company, however, rose to Rs 255.99 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 244.11 crore for the same period year ago.

Consolidated net profit of the company also dipped to Rs 75.39 crore for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2015 from Rs 169.30 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
"Exceptional items reported for the previous accounting year ended March 31, 2014, represent profits on sale of company's manufacturing unit at SEZ, Indore and amortisation of intangible assets due to change in their estimated useful life," Unichem said.
Consolidated total income of the company also rose to Rs 1,201.79 crore for the fiscal year under consideration as against Rs 1,133.44 crore for the previous fiscal year.
In a separate filing to BSE, the company said its board of directors has recommended a final dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of Rs 2 each for the financial year 2014-15.
