The body of a man has been found hanging from a tree in Shamli district's Pirkheda village, the police said today.
The man has been identified as Rahul, a resident of Assam. It is yet to be ascertained if he was killed or he committed suicide, Sub-Inspector at Kakroli Police Station Sandeep Balyan said.
The incident took place last evening. His body has been sent for post mortem, he said, adding that he was missing for the last two days.
In another incident, a body of a 30-year-old woman was found stuffed in a bag at Tigris village under the New Mandi Police Station in Shamli, the police said.
The matter is being investigated, they said.
