UP CM felicitates winners of slum soccer championship

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said his government was continuously promoting sports as a result of which the sportsmen were bringing laurels to the state nationally and internationally.

Akhilesh was addressing a felicitation function of the state's winning side in 13th Rajiv Gandhi Slum Soccer National Championship held in Nagpur last year.

He presented a cheque of rupees one lakh on behalf of the government and another of rupees five lakh from Tatva foundation side to each of the team members.

A football match between the national winners and chief minister's XI was organised in which the latter won 5-4.
 

Akhilesh was chosen as the man of the match in the friendly game.
