UP govt terminates services of 11 judicial officers

Uttar Pradesh government has terminated services of 11 judicial officers, who were allegedly involved in a scuffle in a drunken state at a restaurant here.

The decision to terminate them was taken on September 17 after a full court meeting of the Allahabad High Court, an official spokesman said here.

"The appointment and personnel department of the state has issued orders in this regard," he said.

These officers were allegedly involved in a scuffle in a drunken state at a restaurant on Faizabad Road in Lucknow on August 7 a day before their training at the Judicial Training Research Institute, Lucknow, was to end on August 8.
 

The full court meeting, chaired by the Chief Justice of the High Court, was attended by all judges of the High Court, at Allahabad, where the decision was taken to terminate their services.
