Newly formed alliance of smaller parties, UP Ittehad Front, would contest on all 403 seats in 2017 state Assembly elections.

The parties that are part of the new front include Rashtriya Ulama Council, Parcham Party of India, Indian National League, Welfare Party of India and other smaller parties.

President of Rashtriya Ulama Council Mulana Amir Rashadi said that the front would create a public movement against the "failures" of SP regime in UP and BJP led NDA government at the Centre.

He said that the front would expose the parties playing with the feelings of the people in the name of socialism and nationalism and provide a strong political alternative to oppressed and deprived class.

On increasing activity of Asaduddin Owaisi led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Rashadi claimed that it was temporary and would have no effect on the front.

He said that talks were also being held with Quami Ekta Dal and Peace Party and a massive rally of the front would be held in Lucknow in February next year.

Mohd Suleiman of front's ally Indian National League said that the first phase of public awareness campaign would start from Azamgarh.

On March 10 this year four political outfits in Uttar Pradesh had joined hands to form the UP Ittehad Front.
